Abstract

Hypertension is a condition when blood pressure exceeds 140/90 mmHg. The number of hypertension sufferers is increasing so that the possibility of irrational use of antihypertensive drugs is also increasing. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of patients and the rationality of the use of antihypertensive drugs at the Habil Syifa Medika Clinic in 2024. This study is a descriptive study using retrospective data, namely medical record sheets of hypertension patients in 2024. The research sample obtained was 137 medical records of hypertension patients taken using purposive sampling techniques using predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data obtained were in the form of treatment characteristics compared with the 2019 PERHI literature on "Guidelines for Pharmaceutical Services in Hypertension", as well as the management of hypertension therapy. Data presented in the form of tables and percentages. The results of this study are that the most widely used antihypertensive drug is from the CCBs monotherapy drug group, namely amlodipine (70%). The rationality of the use of antihypertensive drugs in hypertensive patients is appropriate indication (100%), appropriate dose (87.6%).
