ANTIINFLAMATION NAPOLION (NANOPARTICLES LOTION) FORMULATION COMBINATION OF GELENGGANG LEAF EXTRACT AND RED BETEL

Abstract

Synthetic anti-inflammatory drugs generally have dangerous side effects if used continuously, necessitating use of herbal medicine as an alternative. Nanoparticles lotion combination of Gelenggang and Red betel leaf extract is one of the alternative herbal treatment for pain and swelling due to inflammation. From the extraction results obtained Gelenggang as much as 34.95 grams with a yield 11.65% and the number of red betel as much as 30.24 grams with a yield 15.25%. The results of phytochemical screening test showed that there is a flavonoid content of both extract as an anti-inflammatory agent. The nanoparticles produced from measurements using PSA amounted to 833.1 nm. Lotion formulation made by combining the oil phase and water phase and made in five formula. Tests carried out in-vivo anti-inflammatory by way of inducting karagenin 1%. Then measured the inhibition of rat’s leg edema with plestimometer. The test results showed that the nanoparticles lotion antiinflammatory combination of Gelenggang and Red betel leaf extract has anti-inflammatory effects. Nanoparticles lotion 10% (4 mg / 200 g BW) and 40% (16 mg / 200 g BW) has properties similar to diclofenac sodium (50 mg / 200 g BW), whereas nanoparticles lotion 20% (8 mg / 200 B) have a greater antiinflammatory effect
